Running Round Leaving Scars
I stare into your eyes, where I used to find comfort. Now all I see is black holes of nothingness. Everything in you has turned cold. Your soul. Or should I say lack of? “I can’t take one more step towards you”.  You left me when I was most vulnerable. With a broken heart, so “don’t come back for me, don’t come back at all”. You tore love apart and you expect me to just sit here and forgive you? “Who do you think you are?”. The song “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri explains how someone “runs around leaving scars, collecting a jar of hearts” and expects people to come crawling back to him when he snaps his finger just like that.
“I learned to live half alive, and now you want me one more time”. But I have no desire to go back. “I am too strong now to go falling back in your arms”. This is explaining the pain that she got put through by someone who always goes around breaking hearts. Christina states that she is too smart to go back to someone who broke her heart once. It is bound to happen again when someone has “ice inside their soul”. “I hear you’re asking all around if I am anywhere to be found” but this doesn’t fool her. She knows that it is an act. Pretending that he cares so he can take her back into down to that deep depression she was in. “It took so long just to feel alright” after he broke her heart. How could she possibly even think about going back to that? She states that he is “gonna catch a cold from the ice inside his soul” which is saying that he is so cold hearted that the ice has started to form and he is going to get sick if he doesn’t change his nasty ways of leaving scars on girls hearts.
“It took so long to remember how to put back the light in my eyes” because all she saw was darkness for the longest time. But now that she feels alright again he is crawling back to her just so he can hurt her again. But she won’t let this happen. She has “grown to strong to ever fall back in your arms”.

Broken

Broken
But still standing
Shattered
But still in tact
Innocent
But not at all
Those tiny cracks
Are bound to break
One nick
And it could be the end
Surrounded in the innocence of people around her
No one knows pain like she does
She seems so pure
With every smile
With every laugh
That slips past her lips
She wants to be remembered as the girl
That could brighten everyone's day
Even if she could not brighten her own
